Eye To The Ear - Cosmo Sheldrake (2024)
This was a great find a few months ago when it came out.
The music is a hodge podge of the sampled and the live, with lots of different instrumentation. The tunes are often short but always interesting, exploding into interesting angles constantly.
While the music is all over the place, you can’t mistake it for being confused. There’s a singularity of vision here that I just adore.
Sheldrake’s dad is a biologist and philosopher who’s landed on my reading list for some interesting ideas on materialism vs metaphysics but I haven’t gotten into it yet. His brother is also a biologist, and also on my reading list. Points to Rupert for naming his sons Merlin and Cosmo.
