In The Spanish Cave - Thin White Rope (1988)

Part of the 80s west-coast psych revival that also included Opal, Dream Syndicate, and the pre-pop-radio era of the Bangles.

These guys delved into the gloomier, more guitar-heavy end of psych music, setting up a template for desert / stoner rock to come.

All in all, it’s a pretty rockin record by a band I didn’t know much about.

Tracks I Liked

It’s OK - one of the more raucous tracks here, with some great dual guitar work

Munich Eunich - sounds like Dead Kennedys on quaaludes

Elsie Crashed The Party - quick riffs and a double-time beat make this seem like it drives harder than its actual mid tempo
