Blondie - Blondie (1976)
The first Blondie album, showing off the battle plan they’d use to launch their career in the 80s. It’s throwback-sounding 60s pop but with modern instrumentation and a heavy dose of punky no-wave irony-core.
They’d get more ambitious and meld in more disparate sounds as they went, but this first album is an interesting start.
Tracks I Liked
X Offender - Phil Spector and the Shangri Las but punk-club-ready
Look Good In Blue - no accident that one of my favorites on this album sounds a lot like their contemporary, Patti Smith
A Shark In Jets Clothing - eat your heart out, Berstein and Sondheim
Rip Her To Shreds - pure awesome
