The Lemon Of Pink - The Books (2003)

Not really sure what the point of tagging this record is; nothing fits exactly.

This would be pretty standard folky acoustic music, except that it’s chopped and edited and spliced and sampled into a delightful sound collage that sort of sounds like a folk song, but offers so much more.

This band’s first few albums were hyped relentlessly by Pitchfork, back when anyone cared what Pitchfork thought. The hype may or may not have been warranted, but it did get me to listen to this album. It’s been with me for years as an occasional time-out from the other things I listen to.
