Primal Prayer - Beverly Glenn-Copeland (2004)
This is an artist I’ve just found. His music has changed radically from the 70s to the 21st century, but what he’s landed on here in modern times is this ultra-eclectic, ultra-accessible mix of jazz and classical vocals, African and American beats, and an inspirational message that things will be okay. And when he says it, I believe it.
Tracks I Liked
La Vita - a powerhouse opener
Back To Bachland - sounds like a classical oratorio until the beat drops
Primal Prayer - leans into the Afro-latin polyrhythms to great effect
