Strands - Steve Hauschildt (2016)
I talk a lot about the ability of modern artists to create entirely bespoke worlds of sound, designed from the ground up to be something new. Hauschildt is a perfect example of this.
The layers of synth build on each other until you have an ethereal chorus of textures and ideas. The melodies are simple when they’re even there. The atmosphere is calming and beautiful.
If you’re not interested in the technical side of this music, great. You can still sit back and be swept away by these calming ice floes.
