Arrival - Fire! Orchestra (2018)
Billed as an avant-garde supergroup, this outfit started as a trio and ballooned to over 24 musicians at one point before featuring only 14 on this record.
They take a mostly genre-free look at whatever seems to interest them, making modern compositions that occasionally bust out into free jazz nuttiness.
It never overwhelms and never feels indulgent. Quite a feat for music like this.
