Mayan Space Station - Wiliam Parker (2021)

I didn’t know William Parker, but he’s been recording for a long time. This is a trio featuring someone named Ava Mendoza on guitar, who channels a lot of Sonny Sharrock. I love Sonny Sharrock.

There’s not a ton of variation on this album, the instrumentation and general approach are pretty similar on all the tracks. But it’s a great groove, and you can drop in pretty much anywhere and enjoy it
