The Pirate's Gospel - Alela Diane (2006)

Ideated from: I write this about a month before anyone reads it, so it’s still August, but I thought I’d do some Fall music, things that make me think of the autumn for one reason or another

“Solo acoustic female folk record” is a very crowded market, but this is one of the best you’ll ever hear.

Great, inventive lyrics, earnest vocals, enough high and lonesome Americana flavoring to make you think of crunchy leaves on almost every track.

Tracks I Liked

The Pirate’s Gospel - springs to mind unbidden after having not heard it for months. Such a haunting and great tune.

Pieces Of String - so much emotion
