Lionel Ritchie and company quickly pivoted from the funk that got them noticed to the R&B ballads that would make them a hit factory. I don’t know if that started on this record, but it has Easy–one of the most recognizable of those ballads–on it. There’s still plenty of funky fun elsewhere on the disc.
