Antimai - The Dear Hunter (2022)

Ideated from: ending the year with some of my favorites of 2022 that I hadn’t written up yet.

I’m not going to pretend that I’m following any of this. Apparently there’s a story and short film the singer has created, and each of these tracks is about a different civilization in the sci-fi world he created. Which, i mean, is prog AF, but I don’t know anything more about it.

The point is, this is a pretty great record of smart, daring prog-pop-rock. They have a great ear for interesting harmonies as well as some curious arrangements.
