Welcome To The Real World - Mr. Mister (1985)

This is not a record I had ever listened to besides the 3 pretty hard-to-miss radio hits.

The band consists of three seasoned veterans of the west coast music scene. Running down everybody’s credits as session players, songwriters, arrangers, and producers is too much to get into, though it’s worth mentioning for my own quirks that drummer Pat Mastelotto would end up as a regular member of King Crimsono_O in the 90s and 2010s.

The synthy power pop of the mid-80s and not a whole lot more, although it is very crisply played and well-recorded. Very enjoyable.

Tracks I Liked

Black/White - a hidden gem

Kyrie - a test of how old you are (or something) whether you pronounce this like in the Latin Mass or like the NBA player.

Welcome To The Real World - another one, like Black/White, that could easily have been a big single.
