Obsidian - Baths (2013)
Dark and dreamy, with lots of pathos and lots of transcendence. Will Wiesenfeld is Baths, and this record is a fantastic statement of what he does.
He’s emotionally real like you might expect a folk singer or a conscious hip hop MC to be. Unexpectedly, maybe, his music is part goth, part baroque, and part synthpop, shiny and smooth to hide the heavy emotion just under the surface.
Tracks I Liked
Miasma Sky - the real standout of the album. Vulnerable and beautiful but full pain.
Phaedra - pop songs about dark-ass Greek mythology, FTW
