Fade To Black - Carmen Lundy (2022)
Full disclosure: Another week on the road, which means lots of listening time but shorter write-ups after I’m back home several days later
Lundy is a Chicago-area institution, or at least I read that she is. I wasn’t familiar with her until just now.
She does have an excellent vocal attack that sometimes softens and sometimes sharpens her politically up-front lyrics about the Black experience.
Her band on this record is top-notch and she leads them well.
