Eccentric Soul: The Shiptown Label - Various (1965-1977)

Ideated from: I have a playlist of all the random comps of obscure music I find lying around. Going through some of them

Virginia-based Shiptown records was in business from 1965 to 1977. They didn’t create any massive hits that I’m aware of, but the Eccentric Soul imprint has ensconced them in the digital aeviternity of bandcamp, where they can live forever (or until Steam ruins Bandcamp…) (ed. it was Epic, not Steam, but it doesn’t matter now)

Tracks I Liked

Barbara Stant’s Shadow In Your Footsteps and the Grooms’ Slow Down are both pretty great. Also you gotta love somebody named Flip Flop Stevens.
