Sua Sanfona e sua Simpatia (1968) - Luiz Gonzaga
A fascinating story I’d never heard til I researched today’s album. Gonzaga was born in the northeast part of Brazil. He was taken early on with the folk ballads about a local robin hood-type bandit, and started collecting and playing the songs he could find. He grew into both historian and performer, playing all sorts of Brazilian folk songs.
