Take Me Back To Eden - Sleep Token (2023)

I slept on this one until it landed on several best of year lists. I always like that I can find stuff from those lists, but it always infuriates me that my listening habits allow me to miss a gem like this one.

Grandiose and sprawling, we get all kinds of hard rock and metal hybrids. I’m labelling it as progressive stoner metal but there’s a lot more to it than that. The Summoning, in particular, is an absolute monster.
