Live At Acton Town Hall - Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros (2002)
Joe Strummer was really something. Unlike a lot of his punk peers, he didn’t rage ineffectually against all authority. He focused his rage on real points where authoritarianism touched the lives of vulnerable people.
His voice was never great and never controlled, but he had so much force behind it.
This is a live show from a benefit that happened the month before Strummer died. A mix of solo album cuts and Clash tunes (the last few feature former clash-mate Mick Jones).
