Look, Metro is pretty much the sound of early-20s hip hop. His production credits are long and impressive. He’s made more of what made him famous with a collection of his frequent collaborators: Future, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Young Thug (I guess Drake was busy).
The music is terse, rumbling, blown-out, and hazy. While it’s beautiful in places, it’s got a melancholy to it that makes you worry that even those beautiful parts are going to collapse into ruin.
