Make Up The Breakdown - Hot Hot Heat (2002)
“Blog Rock” isn’t really a genre, it’s just the early-aughts phenomenon of bands who got noticed because they had key fans with successful music blogs.
It’s how I heard about Hot Hot Heat.
This first album is a solid mix of nervous postpunk and 21st century indie rock. I don’t know if early-00s nostalgia comps will include guys like this, who were admittedly low-profile, but it’s some of the music I remember best from this era.
