Oxygene - Jean Michel Jarre (1976)

ideated from: the endless depths of old and odd music you can uncover on Youtube.

The YT find was actually supposed to be Jarre’s early collection of incidental music for film, Deserted Palace, but man, I couldn’t get past the first few minutes of cheese-ass Abbey Road-era synths trying to sound like a Haydn concerto.

So instead we have this, an acknowledged classic of early electronic music. Lots of atmosphere, lots of dynamics, and more beauty than you might expect given the instrumentation.
