This Is What I Do - Sonny Rollins (2000)

Rollins has quite a number of records that are in the jazz history books as “key moments” in the development of the music. He aged out of being a trailblazer to some extent. But he kept on making great music and showing off his skills as a composer and as a crate-digger, finding interesting and little-heard tunes to record.

This one is notable mostly (imo) for the excellent first track, his own composition Salvador. There are also songs from several 1930s movies I’ve never heard of, which is always fun vs. a record full of standards.
