Musique Mechanique - Carla Bley Band (1979)

Bley was a composer and pianist who was heavily involved with the free jazz movement.

Her later work got more conventional, but is still great. This late 70s recording is kind of in between the visionary and refined stages of her career.

It’s fun and whimsical, but introspective as well.
