Moves In The Field - Kelly Moran (2024)

Moran (o_O) is a pianist and composer who has a great ear for new sounds and expression she can get out of a piano.

My best understanding of what I’ve read about this album is that she’s playing live over top of pre-programmed loops to contrast the steadiness and the space she creates around it.

I missed it the first couple times I listened, because the effect is very subtle. But the more you hear it, the more that contrast starts to pop out.
