Ten Feet Tall And Bulletproof - Travis Tritt (1994)
ideated from: 1994 is still the greatest year in music history
It’s kind of a funny genre exercise to consider that you could easily classify a lot of this record as “alt-country” or “insurgent country” that was floating around in the 90s, except that this is a platinum record and Tritt was a huge star.
It’s also heavy on the outlaw country of the 70s and 80s that was sort of rock/country fusion. This is a little more honky tonk than a lot of that, but it’s the same energy: Raucous, rocking, and rebellious, at least in its own well-groomed Nashville country way.
Tracks I Liked
Ten Feet Tall And Bulletproof - a great little number about the pitfalls of liquid courage
Outlaws Like Us - Wherein we partake of the sacrament, the mystery of faith that we are not as cool as Hank, Cash, and Waylon
Hard Times And Misery - a scorcher
