Aja - Steely Dan (1977)

Three months in 1977: Released Sept 23. I skipped the Talking Heads’ 77 from the week before this.

Becker and Fagen created a lot of brilliant music (o_O), and this is an excellent example.

The cast assembled includes Larry Carlton, Wayne Shorter (o_O), Bernard Purdie, and Steve Gadd among many many others. Each track creates a little world of its own, both musically and lyrically.

I don’t know if it’s a perfect album, but it makes a pretty good run at it.
