Band Of Joy - Robert Plant (2010)

Ideated from: Some selections from Youtuber Rick Beato’s 40 Greatest-Sounding Albums video

Before Led Zeppelin was a thing, Robert Plant was in a band called the Band Of Joy. He’s ressurrected the name a few times. It’s great if it makes him feel better to say he’s in a band, but this is a Robert Plant solo record all the way through.

Plant has always been more interested in British and American folk music than in the proto-metal Zeppelin was known for.

There are no original songs here, a mixture of folksy and rootsy rock covers and traditional tunes that fit together nicely.

so does it sound great?

I wouldn’t complain about the sound, but nothing sticks out to me to make it amazing. It’s a great listen regardless.
