Louder Dreams - Rotem Sivan & wowflower (2024)

Stumbled across this without really knowing how much of a puzzle it would be to sort out what it was.

Sivan is a noted jazz guitar player with quite a few albums, although I don’t know much about him. His release from earlier this year was titled Dream Louder and was very good.

Wowflower is a YouTube creator / polymath / glorious weirdo who deals in making all sorts of audio and video art.

This appears to be a remix session where wowflower takes the stems from Sivan’s record and reprocesses them into several short, trippy, atmospheric downtempo beat pieces.

Tracks I Liked

Cardinal - the lead track on Dream Louder is a gorgeous cover of McCartney’s Blackbird, and this obviously lifts a fair amount of that material while venturing off elsewhere

Mase Poite - kind of vaguely latin flavored, but a wonderful sidetrack
