Child Of Light Sndtk - Coeur de Pirate (2014)
Ten Years Gone: stuff that was in my January 2015 rotation
I don’t take a lot of time to play games; but I do love a bargain, and I do love keeping lists. And when a game I have on a list goes on sale at a deep discount, I usually get it juuuuust in case I might get to playing it. As such, I have dozens of games in my Steam and Epic libraries that I’ve never even installed. The gaming version of the reading list I’m never gonna get to the end of, I guess.
I don’t own Child Of Light, as it happens, though it does look cool. Not sure how I ended up listening to the soundtrack, then. But I did, and I quite liked it.
Béatrice Martin, aka Coeur de Pirate, has made a very pleasant set of swelling soundscapes that sound epic in scope even though the arrangements are understated.
There’s the occasionally big-drum suspense piece, as you need in any game, but most of it is much more melodic and scenic.
