Seeds - TV On The Radio (2014)

We end with a little bit of an anticlimax. For me personally, the first and last albums we have from TVOTR are the least interesting.

Not that the record is bad. But it’s the first time that I felt like I wasn’t hearing anything new. As much as I liked their previous albums, I was always going to be a hard sell, so I can’t complain.

The band finishes their (first?) run with a very competent and well-balanced record of material that’s hard to distinguish from the rest of the ouvre.

Next: The the band is reuniting in 2025 to tour behind the 20th anniversary of Desperate Youth, so maybe more to come?

Previous: Nine Types Of Light

Tracks I Liked

Happy Idiot - the TVOTR trademark sound, slightly less BPM, slightly more clever lyrics

Test Pilot - builds calmly and steadily

Lazerray - their best scorched earth garage-rocker resolves into more of what you might expect
