Naive - KMFDM (1990)

ideated from: last week was a lot of discovery, and it was hit-and-miss, if I’m being honest. So this week I’m queuing up known quantities: things I already love and just want to hear again

Industrial music doesn’t get enough love as dance-oriented heavy music, and these guys were some of the best.

Bonus points for being around for 40 years and having a consistent album cover aesthetic all the way through.

Tracks I Liked

Die Now, Live Later - A fascinating tune to me because it manages to state a lot of the notions I was raised with unironically, and yet also convey the utterly alien and brutalist tone of the gospel message as some cold-blooded shit to say to a motherfucker. Hard to explain. IYKYK

Piggybank - a less-serious take on BDSM-themed obsession

Liebesleid - possibly the dictionary definition of industrial music.
