It’s hard to be upset with literally anything while this is running.
Bossa Nova was a sound that emerged around this time that leaned into the lazy, breezy way some traditional samba would sound if played in the styles of jazz.
Jobim was one of the originators of the Bossa Nova style, and this is probably his most famous outing.
At only 30 minutes, it’s a very concise statement. It’s mellow enough that I won’t blame you for thinking it’s cheesy. But listen through and I bet you’ll change your mind.
