Serial Hodgepodge - Lusine (2004)
I’ve had several recent Lusine albums in rotation in the last few years. This one is an early release that’s remarkably modern for a 2004 IDM record.
The beats are glitchy in places, funky in others, and always a little at odds with the overall calmness of the rest of the tracks. That tension makes for some interesting moments that aren’t quite chill but aren’t exactly intense, either.
There are a bunch of interesting ideas here that never quite gelled into a solid listening experience for me.
