I spent less time doing in-depth dev work this year, which meant that I spent less time with my concentration music. I don’t know what the future brings, but I’ll have to find a way to include this stuff regardless.

• Sakte film - Geir Sundstøl - Great Euro-jazz guitar

• Ocra - Palladian - electronic meditation

• That Wasn’t A Dream - Pino Palladino & Blake Mills - A strong followup from this duo

• Watersong - Savina Yannatou - a lovely curated set of art song

• Environments - Rafiq Bhatia - another great guitarist and composer but with a much more cosmic and abstract sensibility

• Strange Heavens - Linda May Han Oh - a great trio date

• Living Being IV - Vincent Pierani - the French accordionist leads another diverse ensemble through some great modern listening music.

• Angels Speak - Gerald Clayton - solid modern jazz

• About Ghosts - Mary Halvorson - heavy on the jazz guitar this year but the numbers don’t lie
