Tree Vibrations - Ylva Ceder (2026)

I like a good variety in what I listen to. So I might start by complaining that I chose poorly putting this one after yesterday’s FS Blumm record. It’s substantially similar in terms of warm, organic instrumentation and songcraft.

But I’d say this one has a slightly softer edge. Where Blumm likes to pique the ear with unexpected textures, Ceder seems to want to wrap you in a warm blanket of soft, pleasant sounds.

The worlds she constructs is no less ambitious and no less structural, but it’s in pursuit of a slightly different reaction from the listener, I think.

When there’s a sudden turn, say from ringing keyboard tones to strings and woodwinds in Hindsight, it’s not to be jarring but to build a new layer of complexity on the base that’s been laid down.

A lovely listen that I’ll be sure to keep around for future replays.
