Pause - Four Tet (2001)
I’m spending a couple days in airports and rental cars, so I need some music that’s groovy and interesting but not so subtle or involved that I’ll lose too much detail from following Google maps, or dealing with jet engines and noise cancellation.
Four Tet is Kieran Hebden. He played in Fridge, an early post-rock band that made some great records. As Four Tet, he explores some of the same post-rock territory but mixes in heavy doses of house, trip hop, and other DJ-centric strategies.
It’s good down-tempo fun that has a sense of playfulness and a lot to offer.
