Sparklehorse was basically the late, great Mark Linkous. He recorded the first couple of Sparklehorse records essentially by himself at home. This one was done in a studio, with other musicians, including Tom Waits, PJ Harvey, and Joan As Policewoman. But everybody else is just a passenger: Linkous is still driving the bus, and he drives it wherever he pleases.
