The Last Dawn - MONO (2014)

I don’t always take the time to really listen to MONO, but I love it when I do. Their music always takes time to develop and build. By the time they really get going it can be thrilling, but I admit that’s hard to get into at first.

I happened to be in a take-my-time kind of mood this morning, so I got a lot of enjoyment out of it. If I were to be picky, I do wish the drums were a little more audible, but it makes sense that they emphasize the textures of the other instruments.

Gorgeous soundscapes that turn into squalling storms and then resolve again to peace. Like listening to a thunderstorm. Beautiful.
