All That Divides - Black Peaks (2018)

Ideated from: The Eights. going back ten years each day

I don’t know what it means to be a successful hardcore band these days. There’s no good avenue to get noticed. You’re unlikely to get your tune played on an episode of a Netflix show. You’re probably not getting a feature verse on a Dua Lipa track. You’re definitely not selling yogurt or dog toys or Hondas. Maybe a movie trailer or two, but how much is Zach Snyder actually working these days?

It’s too bad that a band this good has such a hard road getting noticed. They’ve made a great record, full of interesting song structures and a nice mix of melody and crunch.

Tracks I Liked

The Midnight Sun - multi-part song with a great dynamic.

Aether - a great pop tune masquerading as hard rock

Slow Seas - probably could have done work on your local hard rock radio station in 1998.
