Magic Man - Jackson Wang (2022)

Ideated from: some new releases

Kpop idol gone solo, with a new record on his own label. Alleged to be “70s rock inspired and gritty.” I guess I hear some of the 70s rock, but this is gritty done by someone who’s never seen anything gritty before. Not trying to be too harsh. It’s a well-groomed record; even the dirty guitars are dirty in a pristine, processed, and expensive sort of way. But it has a lot of energy and solid, danceable production, so I’m sure it’ll be good for people who are into that.
