Phase Corrected - Shit And Shine (2022)
Ideated from: I have hundreds of playlists in Spotify, sometimes inspired by an article or list I find, sometimes just stuff I’m curious about. I came across this one from a few months ago with no title and no description. I have no idea what made me add this rather odd mix of artists to it (some of which I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard). But hey, I love serendipity, so let’s see what a-few-months-ago-me thought I should hear.
I’d be lying if I said I loved this, but it was an interesting experience. It also kind of helped me work out some aggression I’ve been building up with a rough stretch at work.
When I say “work out” aggression, I guess I mean “letting this ridiculous and sublime cacophony steamroll over me and leave nothing in its wake.”
It’s noise. I mean, it’s just noise; don’t kid yourself. But it is exquisitely recorded noise. There’s so much detail you can almost hear the guitar amps fluttering against the onslaught.
