Let It Come Down - Spiritualized (2001)

Jason Pierce had been making shoegazy psych rock for a while, both in Spacemen 3 and then the first three Spiritualized albums. This is, in my opinion, one of those “finding a different gear” kinds of records compared his previous output.

Heavily orchestrated and multitracked, it’s all gaudy and gorgeous while still packing a punch. Horns, backing vocals, synths, and guitar distortion all tumble over each other, giving you something different to hear every time you play it.

A great accomplishment.
