Mini World - Indila (2014)
Ideated from: it’s Bring Your Daughter To Blog week. She gave me a list of a whole week’s worth of things she wanted me to listen to.
There might be nothing better than a smooth-flowing French lyric. I only understand some of it, the sound of the language is fantastic. At some point I’ll put some French hip hop on here, which is distinctly awesome for many of the same reasons.
This is somewhat non-descript French pop. She’s got a great voice, and was produced by a gentleman who calls himself Skalpovich, which… iono. points?
It’s a very pleasant album all the way around, with a nice mix of arrangements to keep things from being monotonous.
Tracks I Liked
Dernier danse - ooh. “last dance.” I know that one. A good buildup and payoff that really hits by the end.
Tourner dans le vide - a little more urgent and spooky sounding than most of the record.
Run Run - someone’s letting the Europeans play ska again. Good tune, tho
