Labyrinth - Heather Woods Broderick (2023)

Ideated from: going through some releases from the last few weeks I’ve been spinning a lot.

This one starts out like a slow, pretty indie folk record. Then the bottom drops out and you get the full brunt of what Broderick is doing. Programmed breats and keyboards build a platform for the more folky elements, with lots of little sonic textures scattered throughout.

Tracks I Liked

I Want To Go - fuzzy synths and guitars mix with a beautiful vocal

Crashing Against The Sun - builds steadily to a beautiful crescendo

Wandering - The bright but hazy piano figure really makes this track
