Musique Du Crepuscule - Fragments de la Nuit (2008)

Quality or nostalgia: There are things I really loved when I was younger, and when I hear them now I’m never sure if I’m really hearing the music or if I’m just hearing my fond memories. So I’m going to add in this little feature to explore whether younger me was onto something, or just on something

This chamber group does short, cinematic pieces that aren’t actually a soundtrack to anything even though they sound like they should be. It’s elegant, dark, and often creepy.

The group tends to be pretty conventional melodically. They create a close, anxious atmosphere, even when the tunes are soaring and pleasant.

So is it Quality or Nostalgia?

I was really into this one when it was fairly new, but I find it doesn’t have as much for me on re-listening.

Tracks I Liked

Assault - a little edgier and assertive than most tracks here.

Solitude - sparse piano
