3D Country - Geese (2023)
Ideated from: some recent releases I’ve been spinning
I don’t think I heard the first Geese record, or at least I don’t remember it and didn’t favorite any songs. That one sounds much slicker and NYC post-punkier, which probably made me ignore it.
This sophomore record, though, is a kick in the head. Bits of noisy indie rock mix with country and prog and soul tropes, topped off with a guitar-solo-friendly classic rock outlook.
It’s a really fun mix that makes for a great listen. It’s a triple threat: You can sing along, dance, and air guitar.
Tracks I Liked
Cowboy Nudes - a great lyric stretches to fill a pleasant, dialed down beat.
Crusades - Starts off with a 70s-Bowie-sounding punch and keeps developing from there.
Mysterious Love - harder rockin, with a great bassline
