Getting Killed - Geese (2025)

Geese are (is?) back with a new confounding album of quirky, shambling indie rock.

Nothing on here is flashy but it’s all quite well-done. The beats lope along, the lyrics gradually unfold, the music builds but never quite crests.

This is the kind of thing I’m going to have to keep listening to in order to find much to say about it. But the first few times through have impressed me plenty.

Tracks I Liked

Trinidad - A sharp, tense opener that apparently includes additional vocals by JPEGMafia (-_-), though I can’t hear it.

Cobra - Poppier and more open, with a little bit of whimsy

Taxes - a little Radiohead-ish? great tune
