There’s an energy and crackle about Lorde that other pop stars just don’t have. Her music manages to be an exact fit for its era, but also wildly original and imaginative.
Produced by architect of 2010s pop Jack Antonoff, the shimmer is ever-present. But her almost Kate Bush-like vocal quality shines through and makes this much more than just a teen pop record.
