One Down - Material (1982)
Bill Laswell’s (o_O o_o O_o)rotating cast of collaborators made a string of records in the 80s that mixed urban funk with soul, rock, and disco. This one features Chic mastermind Nile Rogers on a couple tracks. Other tracks make use of guitarists Nicky Skopelitis and Fred Frith, and another boasts both jazz saxophonist Archie Shepp and an up and coming singer named Whitney Houston.
