Shine Ball - Bill Carrothers (2004)
A recent Bandcamp reissue, which I’m sure I noticed because of the baseball image. I have literally judged a book by its cover.
It’s a very pleasant piano trio, all improvised on the spot according to the blurb. It’s easy for fully improvised music to get beyond what I want to put up with–becoming meandering and self-indulgent–but this stays melodic and well-structured throughout.
